We're back with some Guest Barn action! Although we are still doing lots of planning, we have been able to get some work accomplished on the barn. Lots of fiddly things to get fixed before progress comes in earnest, but we also discovered an issue with the bearing walls that needs to be addressed before moving much further. This is a typical problem for balloon framed buildings with a gambrel roof where the floor joist connection is a few feet below the top of the wall. There are a few options to remedy the problem, each with their own pros and cons - we just have to figure out how we want to proceed. Hope you enjoy!
